I picked up Kate Jacobs book because the theme played off my own creative spirit. While, her novel has a knitting theme, it is truly about women facing the challenges in life and being there for each other. It centers around Georgia Walker's yarn shop that becomes the site of an impromptu knitting club.
I enjoyed the camaraderie of the women as their stories came together. It did have a bittersweet ending. There was a moment I had difficulty chocking down my pizza rolls that seamed to be mixed with tears.
There is a recipe and direction for a beginner's scarf at the end with a tutorial website WalkerandDaughter.com that is the name of the yarn shop. It leaves a sence of realness to the novel.
